Hello! My name is Grigory KHurdayan.
I am a musician and the composer.
My main instrument is guitar, but as a multi-instrumentalist, I also play and collect various string instruments, such as bass guitar, ukulele and oud.
In 2000 I entered the Rostov State conservatory, faculty/department of traditional instruments in class of a classical guitar, where I have been studying till 2004.
Together with the main specialization, I had been taking lessons of musical composition from professor Anatoly I. Kusyakov, what allowed me to continue studying musical composition at the Moscow State conservatory from professors Roman S. Ledenyov and Karen S. Khachaturian.
It was magnificent musical experience.
Furthermore, all along in my musical career, I am practicing and developing my conducting skills, as well as experience of performing with an orchestra.
I studied conducting, firstly, from my father Krikor D. Hurdayan, professor of the Rostov State conservatory; then, during 2009 I was attending conducting lessons of professor Yury P. Serebryakov at the St. Petersburg conservatory.
In recent 10-12 years I was/have been involved in work with cinema and theater. Thus as a composer I wrote music for a number of movies and dramatic performances. Also as a guitar and bass player, I worked with various experimental and professional music collectives. Since 2001 to 2008 I was playing in Rostov state orchestra of folk instruments “Don”. The range of my musical preferences is quite extensive, so I constantly experiment with existing styles and genres of music trying, for example, to combine folk music with the jazz, electronic music, fate, etc. If I described my works in one phrase, it would be - constant experiment.
On this website you can find and enjoy some fragments of my performances and musical works!
